Six NBA Themed Shows/Books To Catch-Up On

With the next NBA season just around the corner, here are six shows/books to keep you busy in the meantime while you await the tip-off of the new NBA Season on December 22nd! If you have seen these below, here are five other docs I recommended earlier this year.

All The Smoke Podcast w/Allen Iverson - I so enjoyed this candid & honest interview with hosts Matt Barnes & Stephen Jackson with Allen Iverson so many gems dropped!

Year One - series on ESPN +- I really enjoyed this docu-series that follows the draft class of 2017 & 2018 great glimpse of behind the scenes to put the current situations in perspective!

More Than An Athlete - A short series on ESPN+ great info and back story of how LeBron and his friends met and changed the sports world great candid interviews of Randy Mims, Mav Carter, and Rich Paul.

Something in the Water - Documentary on PG County Basketball on Showtime - Really loved how Kevin Durant shined a light on the richness of this section of Maryland and their basketball history with former and current NBA players.

A Kid From Coney Island - Documentary on Stephon Marbury on Netflix - This doc was so all-encompassing & candid with footage that I haven’t seen as I wasn’t a local NYC during the rise of Marbury and a deeper understanding of his career and great interviews with his family and others close to him. Brought back great memories of meeting and interviewing Starbury the summer before Georgia Tech although the final copy didn’t make it for the magazine I submitted it to.

From the Outside - Book by Ray Allen loved the openness from Ray and to get a better understanding of some things from the inside out! Enjoyed attending the book launch at the Wilbur Theater in Boston with a candid author chat with Ray!
