In 2019, podcasts continued to debut and grow in listenership! These nine are my favorite from this year most of these debuted this past year or I recently discovered and that I listened to the most regularly for 2019. Definitely there is a need for more women in podcasting hope to see more in 2020!
Ratchet & Respectable - Demetria L. Lucas dropped this in her arsenal of media bags from books, to tv appearances to now a great podcast she’s definitely a friend in my head and love her commentary and interviews on this show!
The Secret Lives of Black Women - I was fortunate enough to see this show live at Greenlight Bookstore in BK this summer and was hooked every since! Charla & Lauren have great topics and guests with a perspective that is very necessary especially in the podcast world and are in their second season already so catch up !
Guys Next Door - I originally tuned in just for Mack Wilds but now love Mouse Jones & Ryan and how they make for an entertaining, insightful team with great commentary from a men’s perspective with lots of laughs and fun, def NSFW listening though !
Dart Against Humanity - Dart Adams riffs on everything in hip hop, movies, sports etc. all with a well-researched, historian and Boston centric perspective def tune in!
Pull Up w/ CJ McCollum & Jordan Schultz - CJ & Jordan discuss NBA, wine and everything in between from an insider perspective of a current an NBA player!
Side Hustle Pro - A great informative and inspiring podcast with host Nicaila Matthews Okome speaking with Black Women who take you through how they started and turned their side hustle into profitable businesses!
Myleik Taught You- Myleik Teele is an entrepreneur who is the creator of Curl Box, shares insights she’s learned along the way on a variety of topics. So many gems dropped keep a notepad handy!
Black Girl Podcast - Hosts Scottie Beam, Gia Peppers, Sapphira, Bex, and Alysha P speak on such a wide range of topics feels like you are part of the friend circle!
Jemele Hill Unbothered - Award-winning journalist and on- air talent Jemele Hill has some amazing guests who drop knowledge and great conversations on wide-ranging topics!
