Trainer Talk Thursday: Women in Sneaker Culture- Sheznoturavg Top 10 2020 Pick-Ups

For years I have gotten excited to read and see what was listed as someone’s Top 10 pick-ups for that year and as the years kept passing I never saw any women selected or spotlighted which was very troubling to me. So this year with my own site, I wanted to spotlight some of the women I profiled earlier to see what their personal Top 10’s were and hear the stories that other sites aren’t showcasing! There were so many hot releases that dropped this year and although it was difficult to narrow the pickups down to 10, I was able to accomplish the task.  First and foremost, the Concepts x Nike SB Dunk High “Turdunken” – Special Box is HIGH on my list.  Who doesn’t love a Concepts special box?! Concepts’ Creative Director, Deon Point and his team works so hard at creating an experience with their sneaker designs and boxes and this one was no exception.  I tried so hard to catch the SB Dunk Low Lobsters, Green, and Purple and couldn’t cop so copping the Turducken’s was definitely a surreal moment for me.  

The Union x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Guava Ice” was another surreal cop for me.  I had struck out in 2018 when the Jordan 1 Unions released but with this year’s Union 4 drop, the bot protection and the alternate website really helped a lot of people attain some of the hypest shoes of this year.

Last but definitely not least, I was able to cop a grail of mine; the Nike Dunk SB High “De La Soul”.  I am a huge fan of De La Soul and I already had the lows and never thought I would be able to attain the highs.  Sometimes miraculous things happen and I was able to grab these off of a sneaker fan on eBay for a great price.  When I posted both pairs of shoes on Instagram and Posdnuos of De La Soul actually commented, I knew it was meant for me to have them LOL.
