Trainer Talk Thursday: Women in Sneaker Culture- Sneakervibesonly Top 10 2020 Pick-Ups

For years I have gotten excited to read and see what was listed as someone’s Top 10 pick-ups for that year and as the years kept passing I never saw any women selected or spotlighted which was very troubling to me. So this year with my own site, I wanted to spotlight some of the women I profiled earlier to see what their personal Top 10’s were and hear the stories that other sites aren’t showcasing! This week's feature is Sneakervibesonly. If you want more info on her check my profile here and follow her on Instagram.

1. Union Jordan 4 “Guavas”

I’m still in shock that I have this shoe. It was such a limited release and a Los Angeles exclusive, so being from LA I knew I needed to have it. The site was glitching at first, but when the confirmation came through, I knew it was real. The colorway is just so dope!

2. Jordan 1 “Bio-Hacks”

When I first saw the picture of these, I fell in love with the vibrant mix of colors. I took an L on all the apps and raffles, but thankfully resell wasn’t too much, so it was worth it for me. I can see myself wearing these very frequently.

3. Air Max 90 “Infrared”

I remember the first time I saw this shoe, the infrared just stood out to me. I missed out on a couple of releases of this shoe, and this time around I wasn’t going to miss out. Surprisingly, I hit two times on the SNKRS app for GS and men’s. I was too happy! They’re a must-have.

4. New Balance 327’s “Neo Flame”

This model of New Balance is easily becoming one of my favorite silhouettes! The Neo Flame offers the multi-colors, which I love so much! It’s just something about bright colors for me! It’s also my first pair of New Balances, and they’re so comfortable. I got these on a restock thanks to my sneaker sisters reposting the information.

5. Nike Space Hippie “Lemon Venom”

This has to be the world’s most comfortable shoe! I did have to get used to walking in them at first, but it seriously feels like you’re walking on clouds. I love that they’re made of recycled materials and the pink, yellow, and gray color combo is super cute and chic. These didn’t sell out so it was one of my easier pickups.

6. Jordan 1 “UNC to CHI”

It’s definitely the quality for me with these. The leather is so soft and buttery! Plus, I love the red and blue color combination on this pair. It’s also one of my favorite women’s releases this year because it was a Valentine’s Day gift to myself. Oh, and I didn’t win the raffle, so I waited at Finish Line to see if someone wouldn’t pick up their pair, and fortunate enough for me someone did not!

7. Jordan 1 “Lucky Green”

So, this one is special because it was one of my first W’s on the SNKRS app! I was more excited about the win than the shoe until I got it in hand. This is another dope women’s release this year, with such great quality! Love the green on this pair for sure.

8. Converse “Run Star Hike”

This shoe gives me girly vibes with sneaker feels! Every time I’ve worn them people have stopped to ask where I’ve gotten them. They are definitely a conversation starter with the platform and classic Chuck Taylor style. This was surprisingly another very comfortable shoe and sells out so quickly! I got the notification of the restock and purchased them immediately!

9. Jordan 1 “Tie-Dye”

I paid the most I’ve ever paid with this pair, simply because I had to have them. After losing out on all the raffles, releases, and restocks, I made an executive decision that the resell price was worth it. Now every time I look at them, I have no regrets! I think tie-dye has been very popular in 2020, so I was able to find so many clothing items to style with these!

10. Jordan 13 “Flint”

This is a pair that I had been waiting to rerelease for some time! For me, other than the Bred 13’s the Flints are just such a classic pair! I was fortunate enough to win a raffle for these and had to drive about an hour away to get them, which I did not mind. I have yet to wear them because I want to hold onto them being new a little while longer.
